Process
Every project starts with light and intention

How the work unfolds, from planning to delivery
Discovery and planning
Before stepping into the space, we take time to understand:
– the design intention
– the story behind the project
– the atmosphere you want the images to convey
– your goals — portfolio, publication, awards, branding, investor reporting
– any styling considerations or architectural details to highlight
We also review:
– floor plans
– natural light orientation
– preferred perspectives
– reference imagery (optional)
– timeline and key deadlines
Light-First Approach
Every shoot is planned around natural daylight.
It shapes the schedule, the mood, and the atmosphere — becoming the foundation of each image.
Pre-shoot styling and preparation
Interiors look their best when styling is minimal, intentional and true to the design.
Before the shoot, we provide guidance on:
- light decluttering
- arranging key elements
- balancing textures and layers
- soft adjustments (folds, pillows, lines)
- where natural light will fall during the shoot
Our role is not to over-style, but to reveal what already exists.
Designers are welcome onsite — collaboration is always encouraged.
On-site photography / videography
When we enter a space, the first thing I listen to is the light.
Where it moves. How it softens. What it reveals.
My shooting style is: calm, soft, editorial, extremely intentional.
No harsh flashes, no heavy equipment, no rushing between angles.
Just the space, the light and the quiet rhythm of design.
I capture:
- wide architectural views
- room transitions
- materiality and textures
- key compositions
- intimate details
- natural-light moments throughout the day
If we film video:
- slow, cinematic motion
- natural flow through rooms
- atmospheric storytelling
- optional interviews / voiceover
Your space guides the rhythm — not the camera.
Editing & Post-Production
My editing approach is soft and restrained:
- clean lines
- true colors
- balanced highlights and shadows
- natural warmth
- gentle contrast
- atmospheric softness
- no artificial HDR or aggressive filters
Design integrity is the priority.
The space should feel exactly as it feels in real life —
just translated into editorial imagery.

This keeps all collaborations legally clean and professionally consistent.
Collaboration Philosophy
I believe the relationship between photographer, architect and designer is creative synergy —
a shared moment of seeing the space in its best light.
You bring the intention.
I translate it into imagery.
Together we reveal the story behind the design.
Questions
Most projects run between three and eight hours, depending on the size of the space, the quality of natural light available, and how much detail you want captured. Larger projects or those requiring multiple rooms may take longer.
Yes. Natural light is the foundation of my work. Artificial lighting is only introduced when absolutely necessary, and even then, it remains subtle and supportive of the space's existing atmosphere.
Optional. Many designers prefer to join for styling adjustments — but it’s not required.
Yes. I provide guidance on credits, image curation and editorial standards.
Yes. I photograph projects throughout British Columbia, including the Lower Mainland, Sea-to-Sky corridor, Vancouver Island, and Interior BC. Travel is built into my process.
